You should get in the habit of talking to your doctor about your symptoms. Not so much about specific drugs. Treatment is different for different individuals and drugs that work for one may just cause negative side effects or no reaction at all in others.

If you only have trouble sleeping then that is the symptom you should discuss with the doctor. If the doctor prescribes drugs you can not afford then let them know that at the time or at the next appointment.

If you believe you suffer ADHD a lot of kids will tell you they prefer life without the drugs. If you have been diagnosed ADHD by a specialist then go back to the specialist and tell them how your symptoms are impacting your life. Preventing you from doing the things that others take for granted.

The best way not to be nervous is not to go to the doctor with a specific outcome in mind that you want to achieve. Rather lay out your symptoms, let it all out so the doctor is informed enough to help you. If you cant get it out because of the nervousness then write it down, briefly, like a list and give it to the doctor with the brief introduction that you find it too difficult to speak it all.

Doctors cant work with silence.

Be safe, be sage
